Vivant Care Announces Bayards Court in Dartmouth

Work has now started on Bayards Court, a stunning new care home by Vivant Care. The brand new care home is located in Dartmouth’s Little Cotton Farm estate, off Townstal Road. Planned to open in Spring 2026, Bayards Court will have 63 bedrooms, including suites. It has been designed to promote both comfort and independence.

When completed, Bayards Court will provide a high-end dining experience, ample communal spaces, and extensive amenities, to offer ‘extraordinary living’, ensuring residents receive the highest standards in care, tailored to individual needs.

The construction of Bayards Court is already generating economic benefits for the area. Over 107 jobs have been created with Lancer Scott, appointed building contractors, and sub-contractors over the build period. On opening, the home will further boost the local economy by creating around 80 permanent jobs including healthcare assistants, support workers, concierge, baristas, chefs, cleaners, administrative and management roles.

Bayards Court is backed by not-for-profit Sanctuary Care, who have over twenty five years of expertise in the sector.

The home will include:

  • spacious communal areas designed for social activities and events
  • a welcoming coffee bar
  • a cocktail bar
  • a family-friendly area for visiting guests (as well as a private dining space to host family celebrations),
  • an auditorium for entertainment
  • and a wellness suite complete with specialist gym equipment. 

The home will also feature wheelchair-friendly spaces and beautiful gardens, including a vegetable garden and seating areas, providing residents the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.
